Thread: Rebate Processing

    Rebate Processing

I know it's here somewhere but couldn't get it on search. What's the skinny on rebate processing? Is it a scam? Has anyone here done this?

Some context would help: Are you asking about a particular company, or the "work at home" scheme?

No particular company, just generally. Are they all scams? How does it work?

Are you talking about tax rebates? If so, this isn't the correct forum for this question, but I need to know exactly what you're asking about in order to move it to the correct forum.

Victoria, I think the OP is talking about processing retail rebates. You know, those forms you hate to send in and maybe eight weeks later if you're lucky you'll get a check.

I've read that there are some non-profits that make some decent side income processing rebates for large companies. This is a job that requires human beings - someone has to check that the forms are filled in correctly and all of the supporting documentation is enclosed.

Having said that, a quick Google check shows that anyone considering doing this needs to vet specific companies carefully.

Dang, that reminds me - I need to go jump through some hoops for $15...

And there you have your answer. Rule of thumb: no legitimate business opportunity requires an investment in anything other than physical stock or an established chain of franchises.

Closing the thread--this isn't relevant to writes or writing.
