I like plants, but I have always presumed they are out to get me. Might have something to do with that scene from LOTR (print version) with Old Man Willow

No doubt. Never dawned on me. Is this akin to the role-reversal that Geroge and Elaine took one time on Seinfeld?

I'm kinda stunned from a big-time R&R phone call. Trying to look on the positive while also trying not to blubber. Being a professional adult and all.

I suffered a near fatal car crash (mild... ok, huge exaggeration) and was on death's door (WILD exaggeration) during one of my prime writing days.

so I'm claiming a temporary exemption.

    Ask me Friday?

And no push ups or physical abuse... right now it would make me curl up in ball and cry. And no one wants that, really.

    Um. Well. You see....

Okay. Maybe 200 words tops. But that was only on my blog. If it helps, I did get one rejection. But of course that came today, so it won't count until next week.

I did read about 270 pages in preparation for a heavy duty beta I'm going to do. Good story too. Great story, actually. If I hadn't gotten caught up in it I might have written something of my own.

So, uh, next week I'll do better. That is, if you don't kill me.

Major rejection today. Very nice personal 142-day rejection of my dark SF/horror story Nidus (some of you guys helped me edit it in SYW, so thanks). The good news is that the editors at Abyss and Apex liked it enough to hold onto it for that long, but I gotta tell ya: this is the hardest rejection I've had to deal with. Thought I had a sale. I made some minor edits and sent it back out, but I felt like burning the damn thing.

I'm taking a break for a while. Have fun you guys!

    10 push-ups for you

Plus another 15 to help Boston meet his push-up quota

Roundhouses if your output doesn't improve next week.

    Now back to work, please.

Chew a finger or two off if you want to T, but don't take too long of a break. We've all been there. My favorites were the 111 day rejection and the 157 day rejection. Then again, I've still got that 262 day pending going on.

It's part of the bidness. Shake if off and get back to it.

Here. Have a drink. And don't hog it all. I want some too.

Bummer, Tburger. Good on you for kicking that bird out of the nest again right away.

No new words for me. Dealing with huge R&R off an agent phone call (PM me if you want details) and serious revenge querying.

Too tired to dare DL to lay some roundhouses on me... we moved offices yesterday and I'm so far behind in work I think I'm in a time loop.

I've been in a serious slump since NaNo, and just recently got back on the horse. Got 1000k on a new piece yesterday, and posted the first 760 or so for crit, too. Haven't done that in a good long time.

Goal this week is to add another 1000k.

Excellent--output and a goal the tyrant is pleased-- because Lady Jay would be pleased and nobody wants her displeased!!

As a reward you get to pick which horror hound gets 20 roundhouses
