Let's see... this past week:

I subbed a 6500-word short to the Dybbuk Press Biblical Horror antho. That just required editing, so perhaps I typed 200 words for it.

Then there's my vamp synopsis, 612 words (twice, because it needed a complete rewrite).

Then there were the three (3) synopses I edited for AWers. 400-500 words altogether, I think.

And last there was the backstory for the shiny new WIP: 1156 words and counting.

I shall hie me to The Comfy Chair and wait for my tea at elevenses. :e2coffee:

SIGH:::::::::

1156, huh?

Brother 'I-Shall-Not-Don-Womens-Garters-In-Public-Again' shall bring you thy Wormwood tea whilst you mock those in punishment.

"Am I my chihuahua's keeper?" :D

Yes. Yes you are.

Now as for me, I wrote nothing.

Well, I did write about 1000 words for that AW day of interviewing Chihuahuas thingy that's going on, but I suppose that doesn't count, even if what I wrote was fiction. So let's forget about that.

I did finish a crit on a novel and send the comments off.

I did finish a crit on a three chapter, 15000 or 16000 word crit for someone else.

That's what I wanted to do this weekend and that's what I did.

So, take away my beets. I never eat them anyhow. Take away my turnips. I hate turnips. Please leave my turnip greens though, because they're good.

Oh. And bring me a steak. Medium rare, please. 16 ounces will do.

Thank you.

I has words!

5700 since last monday on WIP #2. And i forgot, i did update the blog last week... not so much on the paying stuff, but the big paycheck took out the immediate urgency in that.

I;m on those tomorrow, though. :D

And mistress, let me be the first to publically grovel - last week was a wash. Utter wash.

I am working to correct that as we speak -but nada happened.

I could offer up excuses, but I doubt they'd be accepted, and then somebody else's would, and I'd get all angry and hurt them, and then you'd ask me what happened in this big booming voice...

And the best I'd be able to come up with is, "Am I my chihuahua's keeper?" :D

Ummmm. ahhhhhh. Yeah. Ok.

You slide by this time...but next week you must use the phrase 'crabcakes in regalia' twice in your report.:whip:

Hey guys, It's been a busy few months and I haven't been around much, lots of family stuff going on. It's good to be back after only being able to pop in once in a while.

I have been writing though. Finished 2 shorts the last few months and have 2 others about half way done. I have 4 subs out right now that I'm awaiting replies on.

How has everything been around here?

For Lily:

For Jay:
*points and laughs, points and LAUGHS*

though, it could have been worse. Could have been to Detroit.

I tried to make crabcakes once... Talk about horror.

Crabcakes are our friends. You just have to make them right. And this ain't the depression (well, not quite yet) so use enough crabmeat, dammit. Crackermeal patties taste like, well, crackermeal patties.

What's that? This is a writing thread?

Oh. Sorry.

You need a few Ritz crackers, but mainly you need back fin crab meat and Old Bay seasoning.

been naughty word count is low 750 on the horror front. I have been worshipping at the alter of shiny distractions--ready for my licks--Lady Jay.

Yes...but you are the first to report...so I'll torture everyone else by giving you the crabcakes, the crab soup, the homemade bread...and most of the Red Velvet cookies.

Hey...hey...cheer up everybody...I still have lots of beets and cabbage for the rest of you!!!

Ooh... red velvet cookies. *drools*

I spent the week critting others' work, Mistress. Oh, and baking 5 kinds of cookies. Are you open to bribes? I have pizzelles, cutouts, Mexican wedding cakes, peanut butter blossoms, and White Trash.

Oh, and my horror short I subbed to the Biblical Horror antho got put in the "maybe" pile. Decision in January. :)

I don't think I've ever been to Boston.......

but I live in Maryland, if that helps the crustacean certification.

Ok.

Here's a challenge:

The first person who pops in here with an appropriate working title for book 4, (Which is um...half...from the alien's point of view...so far...kinda...) without having read the outline or anything, is exempt from punishment next week, and also gets to pick the punishment.

Here's a clue: I decided to not name it 'All Fear The Easter Bunny'

It is not a musical, a biography, a comedy, or even a sword and sorcery junket. It is definately not literary.

I'm not going to name it 'Santa has Satan in his Clause', either.

Post your suggestions, and we'll take an informal vote tomorrow or Wednesday.

I'll be back this evening with the 'Whipcracking Brothers'

How do I get rid of that stupid arrow at the top of the last post?

Dag, that ruins my day.
Now, I have to pass on the ruin.

I think I'll call my credit card company and taunt them.

Crawling in from the mothballs and dustbunnies I scraped out about 1100 words yesterday. They weren't good words but came amid children flying in and out of the house to see what exactly was this "snow" people kept talking about. It's not real snow over here in the PNW, just a couple of inches to hide the leaves I never raked off the lawn.

Ritz crackers add to the richness, but you can use panko crumbs instead for an excellent texture.

And I did 500 words on a short.

And I pulled out an old one and unmercifully edited it. I shall finish it by next weekend.

So there.

No beets, again, please. Give mine to Pike.

and i have a title, thank you.

Without knowing anything about your book, Jay, makes it kind of hard to title it. :D

Well done, Boston. :hooray:

Jay, dear, I have a title for you: Half an Alien is Better than One.

As for your little green arrow, sorry. My modly powers here don't cover green arrows, I'm afraid. Of course I could delete the whole thread, but that seems kind of pointless.
