My favorite bit from The Osbournes is when Ozzy walks into a concert hall for soundcheck. They've got a bubble machine going. He says "Bubbles? But I'm the bloody prince of bloody darkness" in that hapless way of his. It's become a catchphrase with me and my man, and covers all sorts of possibilities.

I love both of those!

all children should be exposed to the Ramones! :D

Yeah, but even I flinch a bit when I hear them singing "California Uber Alles" or "Jesus is Way Cool". My hubby spent way too much of his youth at CBGB's, and has the hearing loss to prove it. I have this beautiful memory of my hubby speaking to his one day old firstborn - in reverent tones "And this, son, is the Clash" while putting Sandinista on the ole turntable.

My kids love the Ramones too: "We're a Happy Family We're a Happy Family!"

I like Rachid Taha singing The Clash's "Rock the Casbah." A French-Arab singing "Sharif don't like it/Thinks it's not kosher!" is irresistible to me.

Last night we were eating dinner and I mentioned something about Ozzy Osbourne. My 11-year-old daughter giggled and said "what's his name?" I stared at her indignantly and said slowly "Ozzy Osbourne!" She giggled again and said "That's a stupid name."
Well, she's right. It is stupid. Because Ozzy is his nickname. His real name is John. I never call him Ozzy Osbourne, just Ozzy.

A little different than the majority of what's been posted here, but one song that gets me going pretty good, is Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney. It's on the radio right now.

I know it's country, but I love the message and the way Mr. Chesney presents it.

Alanis Morrissette: You Outa Know

Um...'til my --then--6 year old was singing along in the back seat...ALLLLLL the words (and we ain't talkin' a rated 'g' version).

Yeah.
I nearly crashed.

Switched to:
Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen--as if that needed to be clarified)
Don't Fear The Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult)

But...BUT...the NUMBER ONE SONG that gets me pumped:
'Please' by Staind. (I know allll the words :e2brows:)

It.rocks.on.a.Bose!!!!

And, yeah, playing Please vs You Outa Know is oxymoronic....hehehehhe....but I just love that bloody song!

MCR wakes me up too. :) I like I'm Not OK. And Muse's Knights of Cydonia.

Guster, The Airport Song, but only if it's a live version.

I learn so much at AW. Like oh, that's who Bela Fleck and Flecktones are. And, if you give a rep point while you have a youtube window open, the rep point pop-up silences the youtube window.

Some day this information may prove valuable.

Is that guy playing an electric banjo?
That's Bela Fleck hisself, and he calls it The Electric Banjitar. They're completely nuts, and unbelievably talented. I have an album of theirs called Left of Cool, and it has to be the most appropriate title I've ever come across.

I confess I love some of the crazier fifties/sixties-era songs..."Bob Bob Bob, Bob Bob a Rand," "Rock Around the Clock," and stuff like "Jeremiah was a Bullfrog" (Three Dog Night) is great to skate to, though I think that might've been a little later. I have a couple of 50's tapes (for my old Walkman) that really get my blood moving.

I have only two words for you: Ozzy. Osbourne. I rest my case.

He's the f**king Prince of Darkness!

Oh painkillers wore off.

Oooh I'm liking "You Can't Stop The Beat" from Hairspray. It's got a good beat and I can dance to it. Yeah-yeah-yeah!

Okay you get a virtual hug. Yeah, cuz Rodrigo y Gabriela are one of my fave newer acts. And Diablo Rojo really does feel like a roller coaster ride. Added bonus going to Sultans of Swing.
