Playing For Pizza by John Grisham. He's forgiven for my last foray into his writing. This is much newer, and it's about an NFL quarterback.

I'm currently reading, My Sister The Moon by Sue Harrison.
But, I went out yesterday on a buying spree and have the following lined up:
Ghost Recon, by Tom Clancy [actually written by David Michaels]
Marine One, by James W. Huston
The Bourne Objective [actually by Eric Van Lustbader]
Blue Gold by Clive Cussler

[don't you love it! Take a well-known writer's name, have someone else write it, then put it on the shelf knowing the original author's name will catch the buyer's eye!!!!!]

Currently reading through Parallel Worlds by Michio Kaku. It was supposed to be research for one of my novel ideas, but...the book seems to have become a bit of a heavy read about midway through. :(

I normally read a few books at a time and just put down 'To Kill a Mockingbird' for a re-read.
Didn't really find something to strike my fancy after, and then I had this crazy idea to revisit VC Andrews. ::shudder:: The bad thing is that I CAN'T put them down!!! Eeep!

Herman Wouk's Winds of War. I saw the series years ago. The book is amazing. I probably got better understanding of the war reading this novel than from any video I ever watched or book I ever read. Epic.

I finished Amy Tan's Saving Fish from Drowning. It has a rather long intro before getting to the main plot point. Not sure what to think of the ending.

A friend loaned me The Devil in the White City by Erik Larson.

The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson - This was a gift, and he sure is one heck of a fine storyteller, but it's just not my kind of story. I read 10% and quit on it.

Shantaram by Gregory David Roberts - This gift was a 900-page block of small font, so I really didn't want to make that kind of investment. But the style grabbed me immediately, and damn the guy can write. 100 pages later, I happened to notice the back cover blurb. True story? Wow!

Just finished Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder. It's my book club's May selection, and I'm leading the discussion. I suppose I should find some questions on it. :p Next up is Across the Universe. Can't remember the author. Beth Revis? Something like that.

The Art of Memory by Frances A. Yates. Fascinating history of the classical Greek art of memory and its astonishing expansion in the Renaissance. Riveting, loaded with esoterica. My chief regret is that, as Ms. Yates never tried practicing the art, she is confused about certain aspects which would have been clear had she done so.

Spook Country by William Gibson. Already read a lot of the man's books, so I'm working my way through this one. Love it. He has such a way with words, imagery, and dialogue.
