About half way through The Goblet of Fire. Been busy, and it is a big book.

Also reading Why Buffy Matters, a book about the symbolism of the show. Actually quite interesting.

It Was the Best of Sentences, it Was the Worst of Sentences by June Casagrande (from Mac's recommendation when she featured it at the top of the boards). Fast and entertaining read, and a useful reference tool.

The 'Oz' books.

Bought the whole lot for 79p for Kindle.

They're pretty good too :)

Nightmare of Ecstacy: The Life and Art of Edward D. Wood, Jr. Mostly just a compilation of interviews (in the same vein as The Simpsons: An Uncensored, Unauthorized Biography) but it's fun, and a quick read.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a Booker finalist in the local library and I'm 100 pages into C by Tom McCarthy. It starts out slowly and I'm not sure what to think of it yet.

I'm reading I am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want to be Your Class President.

Yes, it's a YA book which I normally don't read, but it's hilarious.

Great title.

It is! Honestly it's why I picked the book up. I thought "I'll read a few pages and see what this is." Three chapters later I was walking to the counter, wallet in hand.

Yeah, that is a great title.

Reading Our Kind of Traitor. Best Le Carre in years.

Finished Goblet of Fire and started on Order of the Phoenix. I am loving these books, I can't stop! Part of me is glad I started reading them not when they first came out. I don't think I could have waited in between.

I enjoyed Jackdaws so much I went and bought two more novels by Ken Follet. Now I'm reading the Key To Rebecca.

Stephen King's The Stand. I haven't read it since freshman year in high school which was longer ago than I'll admit to.

My soon to be 7 year old is convinced it is the biggest book ever.

Continuing to work my way through a bunch of Dutch thrillers I picked up during my passage thru Schiphol last month. The latest one is Cruise by Suzanne Vermeer.

Lust by Elfriede Jelinek. I wanted to read a book in German to practice my language skills. Bad idea. I'm at page 100 and thinking about giving up. This book is only narrative summary with no dialogue! Only half of it is action, the rest is rants about capitalism. The plot is ridiculous: woman fleeing from her capitalist husband into the snow and being rescued by a student. This might be one of the worst books I've been reading this year.

Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Thomas Hardy is so cool.

I also just finished reading The Horse and his Boy, by C.S. Lewis. It's my favourite of the Narnia Chronicles.

I seriously can't put them down! I knew I would like them, but didn't realize how much.

Probably my favorite King novel. It has been awhile since I have read it also.

Life of Pi by Yann Martell. It began in a good way.

I gave up on Lust. Now I have to find another book in German to practice language skills.

I also liked The Stand. I still remember some of the characters even though it was many years ago I read it.
