Last weekend watched about 25 movies back-to-back on LMN -- yeah, I know. One in particular struck me called Where the Heart Is.

Pregnant teenager is ditched by her wannabe rock-star boyfriend at an Oklahoma Wal-Mart. She has no job, skills or money and lives secretly inside the store until her baby is born. She's taken in by a quirky couple (locals) who help her rebuild her life. (Ashley Judd, Sally Field, Stockard Channing & think - emphasize think - Jackie Collins is the author.)

It was a gr8 feel-good escape. I laughed, I cried. She gets back up on her feet w/out feeling sorry for herself and really lives!

Woohoo!

I watched Sherrybaby a couple of days ago. It was alright but quite depressing. And I wish Maggie Gyllenhaal/Sherry had put on a bra.

28 Weeks Later. I was so annoyed by that movie. OK, would everyone just die already. There's no point.

Across the Universe. Lovely film, great visuals with a thin plot, but the music is great.

Ha! I loved 28 Weeks Later. Go figure.

I saw Michael Clayton last night. It was reasonably good, but I wished I'd saved it for Netflix.

The plot was like swiss cheese, but worth watching Mark with his shirt off.

Not sure why, but we ended up watching Silver Streak yesterday. Yeah, still funny, tho' you've got to put yourself into a Seventies fashion mindset.

Knocked Up. It was much funnier and much better when it was called Nine Months.

Next--tried so hard and failed so miserably. If Cage could see a few minutes into the future, he should have been at the race track and betting, so he wouldn't live in the squalor he does. No payoff.

Premonition--Sandy I love ya, but this was so disjointed that your husband wasn't the only one who lost his head/mind in this confusing, wanna be Sixth Sense-type, Ground Hog Day, under achiever movie. Rotton payoff. So, SHE actually caused the whole thing?

Last film in the cinema was... oh pants, I've forgotten its name... the Ian McEwan one... Atonement, that's it.

At home, I'm having a movie-catch-up time, so I'm seeing films I haven't watched before. I've just seen Sideways and Stand By Me. Next on the list is Godfather Part 1 and Mystic River.

The breadwinner and I just watched Breakfast at Tiffany's. I had always wanted to see it and you see those pictures of Audrey Hepburn with that loooooong cigarette holder everywhere. . .Well, what a waste of time. One of the silliest movies I've seen in a long time. Truman Capote must have been appalled. And as for Mickey Rooney's portrayal of the Japanese neighbour - duh. And to think we paid good money for the DVD.
Wonder if I'd have enjoyed it if I'd seen it in 1961?
Liked the cat though.

Was NEXT one of the worst movies you've ever seen or what? Even Moore couldn't act worth shit in that train wreck. I lost two hours of my life yesterday that I will never get back!

Yeah, I was surprised how bad Julianne Moore was (then again, she was bad in Freedomland, too). She should stop playing these generic FBI type (playing Clarice in Hannibal must have warped her brain) and go back to playing tormented housewives or aging porn star. She was so good in those roles.

I think I wrote in my review: If I could foresee my future as Cage's character could, I couldn't say "next" fast enough.

How was The Perfect Stranger? I keep hearing mixed reviews on that one.

We watched Blood Diamond last night and we're going to watch We Are Marshall tonight.

I actually liked The Perfect Stranger (the end, however, did fizzle out). I think the set up was good (even if the twist was predictable)... well, not the best movie in the world, but I don't think it sucked like many critics said.

Fight Club. An all-time fave, but then I'm a huge Brad Pitt fan.

Before that, We Own the Night with Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg. I found it just so-so.

Before that, Across the Universe. It was like watching a long music video on acid. Really enjoyed it. :p
