Lots of blood and gore and cursing - Yikes!

But despite that, I liked it. ;)

*SPOILER*

Disappointed about what happened in the projection room - Was hoping Shoshanna survived.

A Serbian Film (that's the actual title of the movie). Shocking, disturbing movie. There's talk of the movie being banned in several countries given the subject matter (violence, children, porn) but I found it more sad than anything.

Taita Boves, recent Venezuelan historical epic about a humble ex-con and shopkeeper who becomes one of the most infamous Spanish generals of early XIX Century. Possibly one of the few Venezuelan historical epics that I like, especially since we see an anti-hero or full-out villain doing moral choices instead an out and about hero doing everything right. as it is usual.

Footlight Parade,Marvelous Berkeley musical numbers, pre-Hays Code jokes and sexual references and James Cagney in a great comedic role, besides, he can sing very well! I can't stop humming Shanghai Lil.

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Haven't watched it since it first came out, and just read the book. Trying to watch all the movies, in order, before the last ones come out.

Saw Cocktail starring Tom Cruise at a Turkey Shoot. The movie itself was dull, overburdened with dialogue and leagues more homo-erotic than Top Gun. The show was pretty awesome.

I watched Lifeforce last night.

I love movies from the 80's,especially fantasy epics.

It is so bad that it's good. The hammy overacting is made of awesome.

I mean Captain Jean Luc Picard gets possessed by a space vampiress and is kissed by Steve Railsback!
Zombies run fast and overtake London!
Space-bat vampire thingies!

You don't find this kind of epic lunacy in movies today. I love it!

"Fred, the Movie." Based on the youtube kid who talks funny. I found out I can stand him in 3 minute increments, but over 2 hours, I just wanted to kick his ass. Granted, it might not have been his fault, crap is what happens when adults take a child's idea and try to expand upon it.

Anyway, my youngest loved it and has watched it several times since. I've banned it from any TV where I'm in the room. I honestly think I dropped half a dozen IQ points being exposed to it.

Harry Brown - Michael Caine is amazing in this Death Wish with a Geezer kind of movie.

"Two Lovers" with Joaquin Phoenix and Gwyneth Paltrow. I think it is a pretty good film. I also like the fact that the title goes three ways. It's not just the two main characters who are "two lovers."

My cousin is on a romance spree and we watched "The Notebook" last night.

I needed to watch "Hostel" to cleanse the sap from my soul.

Now I saw Invictus, because I hadn't realized its subject matter and my brother heard how much I loved Blood Diamond and recommended it.

Awesome movie! Awesome.

And I'm realizing that my Afrikaner classmates/friends had a different accent in English than most white South Africans in movies because they learned English so very late. Huh. I'd thought that particular accent there was much more Dutch sounding than I'd heard in movies. Or maybe it's just regional. In any case, I'm going to stop criticizing the SA accents I see on screen, lol!

The Town.

Great pacing. Great story. Engaging characters. It establishes and maintains its intensity through the whole damn movie.

Ben Affleck as actor: Meh.

Ben Affleck as director: superb.

I tried watching Evita but I just couldn't get into it. I turned it off shortly after Peron met her.

I also watched Fred: The Movie earlier this weekend and I actually kinda liked it, except for the last third of the movie when he finally got to Judy's house. Then it turned into every other movie with a similar theme. (And as much as they hyped Jenette McCurdy's appearance, you'd think she'd have had more screen time.)

Singin' In The Rain, while the singing was catchy and the scenery was quite, it kept pesking me the fact they had lavishly colored film sets for a company that produces black and white movies...

Legend of the Guardians. Won some free passes to the premiere at Graumann's Chinese Theater this last weekend. Thought a friend might like to bring her grandkids. Even got free popcorn and a soda.

Bottom line: Star Wars but with Owls. I'd even go so far as to call this the best Star Wars movie since Return of the Jedi (a low bar, that, but still...).

Last one I saw, also. I didn't enjoy it. The visuals are downright gorgeous, and the 3D isn't even half bad, but I thought it was too self-indulgent.

Before that, I saw The Town and Easy A last week, both which I would recommend.

I watched The Runways. It was an entertaining movie, but highly inaccurate when it came to depicting what really happened with the band and the band members. Seeing that movie inspired me to listen to some Joan Jett and Suzi Quatro (which I haven't done in ages).

Kick-Ass (again, again). Fourth. Best. Superhero. Movie. Ever. (after The Dark Knight, Watchmen, and Batman Begins--and just edging out Iron Man) Best. Superhero. Send-up. Ever. (unless you consider Watchmen a send-up--then Kick-Ass is a strong number two). Hit Girl rules!!!!
