Full Request

Good Morning!

Most of you don't know me yet, I just joined the community after lurking for quite a while. I posted my tale of woe yesterday in the Outwitting Writer's Block section, a thread titled Help, I'm Blocked. Sorry, I don't know how to link.

Anyway, I was feeling good about taking the step to join AW, and this morning I got a request for a full from an agent I sent a query and the first ten pages to a couple of weeks ago. It's a single title contemporary romance.

I can't believe this, I'm of course obsessively checking my emails, and I just received a request for a partial from another agent!!!

I just restarted the query process for this manuscript. I had done a few rounds well over a year ago, when I was derailed by, well, life. Previously I queried about twenty five agents, to mixed rejections--some form, some nice and personal, some requests for partials, a couple of requests for fulls.

Hopefully, this time something will stick, and I will get an agent (where's the finger crossing emote?)

The book is a single title contemporary romance, takes place in Manhattan. He's the adult child of Cuban immigrants, she's the adult hearing child of Deaf parents. It's about the idea of culture, and how much does background shape you vs. define you. And, of course, the developing romance.
