Does anyone know anything about Hawk Publishing? Caopaux doesn't have them in the list. I'm curious because I see they list speculative fiction as one of their interests. Thanks for any responses. Puma

A few things I noted on a quick visit to the website was that it was oriented towards writers, not readers, which is always a warning sign. It also offers editing services which is another warning sign.

Not all editing servives are a scam
They have some novels by KD Wentworth who is a well established SF writer. Can't imagine she would have her work published with a dodgy outfit

Well, I read their editing services and they are very up front about it: Yes, they'll edit it for a fee, as little or as much as you want. And no, people who use their services don't get any special favors via submissions.

Seem to produce a quality product, at least. Have you seen their books in stores?

I didn't say all editing services were a scam, but a publisher that offers editing services is definately a red flag. It's a great scam setup: Reject manuscripts and remind the author they offer editing services. (etc.) Of course, that might be why this publisher doesn't offer rejections (or, so the website says) -- still a red flag.
