Cricket & Company

I was considering sending a query, then I read what I saw here about Cricket and checked out the company's site.

Very amateurish looking graphics, and that whole line of adjectives was off-putting. I'd be very interested to see if Cricket is still in the business in a couple of years.

I think they changed their taste. Here's a snapshot at the date of my posting...

self-help, health, and spirituality
lifestyle, family, and home (including cookbooks, diet, and fitness)

criminology and investigation

business and technology
biographies and memoirs
creative narrative nonfiction

Their new website features plenty of cutesy verbiage, but shows even fewer books than the old one--just eight, of which six have pub dates of 2008 and earlier. I'm not seeing a lot of recent activity here.

According to their web site, all prospective authors should also already have a "snappy bio accompanied by a dynamic author photo," among other things. This sent up a red flag, for me.
