Can you find their books in stores?

Are their covers attractive?

Is their editing competent?

In other words, have they demonstrated they can provide what you want for your book?

If they profess to be too new/small to provide the above, keep looking. If they ask you for money, run.

**I suggest you try a legit small Christian pub, like Treble Heart Books (MountainView div.) or "By Grace Publishing," etc.

Thanks for the head's up, Inspiewriter. I just downloaded a copy of Treble Heart's submission guideline and sample contract. I will check both of them out first before submitting a query letter or my manuscript.

As far as By Grace Publishing is concerned, my manuscript doesn't meet with their submission guidelines.
