Sligo also owns McKenna Publishing Group, where most of its "sales" go.

    Threads on McKenna:

BTW, the address given for both (425 Poa Place) tracks to a residential subdivision in unincorporated SLO (APN 067-221-022).

this is what I found here: http://accrispin.blogspot.com/2006/1...at-you-do.html

which is Victoria Strauss and AC Crispin’s Writer Beware Blog

Sligo Literary Agency LLC. We haven't heard anything about Sligo since 2004, so this was a blast from the past. Currently, it's charging $175 upfront (since 1999, when we first started getting reports, its charges have dipped as low as $95 and risen as high as $250). To WB's knowledge, it has no recent record of commercial book sales (the few small press sales mentioned on its website date back to 2002 and earlier).

Sligo...even the name sounds wrong. Or maybe I'm just thinking of Mister Bill, and Sluggo...

Whadyamean? I used to live in a town called Sligo. On seconds thoughts, yeah, I was glad to get out of there. (The name made me check the thread.)

More on Sligo Literary Agency … one comment on this thread, from Mr. Gravity, suggests the name sounds wrong. After getting all excited about what the agency offers on their website and deflated by the comments found here, I looked up their name and discovered that it is exactly right.
“Sligo” in my Spanish to English dictionary has the following:
    adjective - small in degree
    adjective - scornful
    adverb - a little

So, if this agency is what all the comments say it is, then the name is obviously right on the money. ¿Sí?

Both the Sligo and McKenna sites are stuck in '09. Any recent reports on him/them?

I haven't gotten a question about Sligo since 2008. However, the most recent McKenna books were pubbed in November 2010, so something is still going on there.

Definitely not recommended! Sligo Literary Agency and Mckenna Publishing are owned by the same man. I would rate them at the bottom 2 and that's being very very generous.
