Why is it that vanity presses propagate the falsehood that authors don't retain their copyright if they go with a "traditional publisher"? Anyone who pulls a few novels off their shelf and looks at the page with the copyright information can see they are lying.

That is true. It just p1sses me off when they go beyond the slick sales pitch to outright falsehoods.
