10. Anything with Julia Roberts in it. (Make the scary lady go away, Mommy!)

Ha ha ha ha! I just read this line to my husband. He said,"I like Julia Roberts." But he knows I don't.

Dusk Till Dawn (Well I like it)

Oooooh I forgot about that one. I love Dusk Till Dawn. It was such a tasty surprise the first go around.

Out hunting rogue apostrophes.
Not really in order, just my favourites:

1. Evil Dead
2. Evil Dead 2
3. Braindead (you have to see this - one of Peter Jackson's early masterpieces. I've heard it has the most fake blood ever used in a movie)
4. Re-Animator (the talking severed head is priceless)
5. Frankenstein (not sure what version I saw, but it was a remake)
6. Flesh for Frankenstein
7. The Hidden (ok, maybe it's more of a sci-fi)
8. The Fly
9. Phantasm
10. Nosferatu

I don't usually watch horror, so my list is probably the only ten horror films I've ever seen. LOL... that is, if I can even come up with ten.

(in no particular order)

1. Alien
2. The Shining
3. The Thing
4. Night of the Living Dead
5. Dawn of the Dead
6. Jaws
7. Cat People
8. The Exorcist
9. Omen
10. Jeepers Creepers

I'm so glad a couple of people mentioned The Changeling--IMO it's one of the scariest movies ever. I've seen it a million times but even watching in the middle of the day it scares me. That horrible dead kid in the floor...ugh! It makes me shiver just thinking of it!

I love The Thing, too. My hubby had some action figures from that movie (we both love it). One day the guys-head-with-legs fell off the shelf and landed in our daughter's crib. I almost had a heart attack when I went in to wake her up!

Also:

Ghost Story
The Exorcist
Stir of Echoes (I thought it was nicely creepy, and hey, any movie where Kevin Bacon has his shirt off can't be bad, right? :))
Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
American Werewolf in London
Seven
The Fog (John Carpenter)
Apt Pupil

...and I'm done. I know some of those aren't completely horror, but I thought they were scary/creepy enough to fit.

3. The Birds
4. The Exorcist
5. The Thing

Hey now, if I woke up one morning with a chin as large as Bruce Campbell's, I'd be terrified :D

(squirrels could go camping on that thing!)

That reminds me of another one- Bubba Ho-tep. Elvis and Ossie Davis battle the mummy in a nursing home. Classic! And amazingly serious considering the subject matter...

ETA:I think this is like a top twenty for me now.

That movie is so strange. And, yeah, somehow wackily sober. Ossie Davis as a pigmentally transformed JFK and Bruce Campbell as an addled Elvis, saving the world in hospital gowns. I recommend it only after two strong drinks.

Hey hey hey, so it is, aadams. I'm glad some people around here have real taste in cinema.

Edit:

That reminds me, Bad Taste, Peter Jackson's original masterpiece

Talking about Peter Jackson, just think: someone saw Bad Taste and Dead Alive and said "Let's give this guy $300 mil to make Lord of the Rings!"

How could you forget Uncle Walt?

1. Skeleton Dance - Silly Symphonies
2. Snow White - When the queen turns into the witch, scared the heck out of four year old me. Heck, I saw it again as an adult and it still scares me.

My brother would insist that the multiplying brooms sequence in the Sorcerer's Apprentice is still hands down the scariest movie scene ever.

3. Alien
4. Jaws
5. The Haunting (of Hill House) - The first one.
6. Final Destination
7. The Witchfinder General
8. Halloween
9. Trilogy of Terror - THE FETISH DOLL WITH THE TEETH - AEEEEIII!!!!! (Yes, I know it is TV and probably ineligible but THE FETISH DOLL WITH THE TEETH - AEEEEIII!!!!!
