How'd You Find This Site?

My intro to the site

I had a short story edited by Jessica Augustsson. I struggled with some aspects of the writing trade and she recommended this forum.

I searched Google for info on an editor.

I was trying to find information on other authors and how the agent process went once they'd sent in a full MS, as I'm currently in this position.

I found AW while trying to find a local writing group. (Which.. there were none, lol.) It was recommended on a website that popped up in a google search!

YA author Leah Clifford recommended it at my newly found writers' group. It's been a great month for writing inspiration in my life.

I googled 'writing forums' and picked this one.

I can't remember exactly how I stumbled upon this forum, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was through a Google search on the submission process: querying, publishing, etc. Granted, I have a long way to go before querying, but I found that this forum offers help with all stages of writing and that's what hooked me in. I just hope that I can finish what I've started.

I found this place because one of my writer friends sent me the link. I'm glad that she did!

I got here by accident also, I was checking on an agent to see how legitimate they were and found you all. Glad to be on board.

Neil Gaiman retweeted something about this forum on Twitter. Or, "The Twitter," as I like to say in real life.

I heard about this site from a local writer's group. I'd been a member of some other sites but somehow this one had slipped under my radar until it was directly mentioned to me.

Those new things called search engines led me here. Been a member of 5+ paintball forums since 2008, so I decided to branch out!

While researching various literary agents, search results from this site kept coming up on Google... I found very helpful information here and decided to join .

I am researching the life of James McHenry (1817-91) - financier and railroad tycoon.

I arrived here as one of your members (gogoshire) had previously conducted research on McHenry's father (also called James - 1785-1845) and had started a thread related to the topic.

As I have future plans for a book (to be written following 3 years of academic research on McHenry's archives) I browsed around and found the conversations going on here very insightful. I hope to stick around.

Any advice on any aspect of the task ahead is most welcome.

I was directed from a (now defunct) blog.

Someone mentioned it on Reddit's r/writing.

I found it buried under a load of midget porn and spam offers for free pectoral implants *coughhackcough*

I mean...a friend referred me.

I was researching agencies and successful query letters and the forum kept popping up. So I decided to lurk and take a look at the other threads, and soon become addicted.

A good friend of mine, author Lucie Smoker, suggested I try Absolute Water Cooler. I look forward to getting involved!

I found this site via a link on another writer's blog suggesting it was helpful for newbies. He was quite right!

I just discovered this site while googling up information on how to find beta readers. Low and behold, this site has a forum for that. Wooo!

Now, I have to get brave enough to post there.

The reason i chose this one was because it seemed more active than any of the others.
