Wasn't sure where to put this, but I had a horrific chunk of dialog that bugged the heck out of me. It was awkward, and it was meant to finish a chapter. It was unnatural. It had a few good lines, awesome lines, but a lot of disconnects, and bad (BAD) lines. And it was so unsatisfying overall.
I was stuck.
And then, I saw it! The answer! The sub text! That can be added! To fix the whole thing!!!! (Turns out I had not zero'd in on one character's motivations in that scene.)
It was such a happy moment. The dialog works now, and is so much better. Whew!
It is such a little thing.
I have much bigger problems, in this story.
But, I feel like celebrating!
