    Stigmas Writing About Your Health

If it's discovered that you have written articles describing your experiences with certain health conditions, disabilities, or mental illnesses, could this hurt your writing career? Sadly, there are still stigmas attached to them. This may even affect your day job or your future day job.

Ironically, what you wrote about was clearing up misconceptions about them to decrease such stigmas. Would a pen name be a good idea to use for such material and use your real name for your regular writing?

"I don't want to work with them. They're sick/disabled/crazy. I might even have to accomodate them. I only work with normal people."

If what you write might cause problems for you, a pen name is definitely worth considering.
