What's my genre?

So, I’ve got this completed MS chronicling my years English teacher in Japan, but now that I’ve decided to try and publish I’m stuck trying to identify its genre. It’s really a compilation of stand alone encounters and (mis)adventures without much of an overarching plot. Should I bill it as memoir? A collection of short stories? Is there some more nuanced genre I haven’t thought of? Thanks for lending your expertise!
