No, I'd never heard Archie Roach, thanks for posting. Of course I know Robert Palmer, and Van Morrison is a guy I just keep discovering. Heard one last night, in fact, (trying to think of the title) but it would qualify for this thread.

Wow, , Darin had such terrific phrasing! Fantastic voice, elegant performer! Plenty of versions of that but none beat his (definitely a pick me up cut!) Hate that he died so young!!
Like Manhattan Transfer? Yes, Miller's version is really king but this is a dynamite rendition!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwL9xf3YQ-4

Just try not tapping your toes to this one! When this one comes up, along with his Jive Soweto, the dance floors explode! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPeEEk5Mab0

this, is you like love songs, gorgeous, unfortunately Katia's brother (the writer and guitarist) has died but their music(as duo guardabarranco) was just phenomenal! I saw them live (station I was at sponsored them) and what lovely people! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWsWwWNNdAo

And two more--this one, how can Steve Winwood NOT be on a list of music that makes you feel great? This one...such sweet memories (many people have them to this song!! Used to get a ton of calls!! ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZE5_sc0keU

and a very different night song :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77umP7IRxD4

Wow, those go back a few years! Lovin' Spoonful!! EW & F!! Hadn't thought of those in ages and yes, how can you not feel good listening to lovin spoonful?

for a change of pace - do you know John Trudell - Native American activist, actor, poet, musician...really amazing story. This is his live Rockin the Rez...a friend of mine brought him to town many years ago and his guitar player really impressed me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf-dfuIgr9Y

and for feeling good -- > gotta blast this one! I do this sing along yearly because I love it. But it needs to be loud! Really loud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usvMU-bOXoU I swear when you come out from singing this, you're flying! Like a massive shot of some incredible drug. total strangers hugging. It's truly amazing. did I mention it needs to be loud?

And no matter how many versions of this I hear (and there are so many!!) this is definitely my favorite (far better than Palmer's!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TapCGEjXdZU

:) :)

Not really a happy song, but the sentiment is uplifting. Plus, there's very little this guy does that doesn't bring me joy. Might sound silly, but I feel very lucky to be alive at the same time as him.

I'll be MIA for a bit. Nothing serious, just something I've put off far too long. Thanks, Bombergirl, for your wonderful links. Please carry on in my absence if you're of a mind to. And anyone else who wants to chime in, some of us are always looking for a boost.

Oh Ill be here! :) And yes, I love that guy too!!

I'm listening to a lot of this guy (spectacular album!) and love this cut--such a great line -- > you're the greenest grass growing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a3aJJWZWXU Maybe not the happiest song but I sing it to myself and feel better! :)

This guy is another one who really so much makes me happy! This cut makes me happy, remember where I was when I first heard it and who was playing it! Seen him in concernt (with John Trudell) and he's awesome. Go Bruce! (no, not THAT Bruce, the Canadian Bruce!!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYD9yyVtb_s

and of course, the sweet horns here, how can you not love Hugh Masekela? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxXZF60EPdM such a great groove

and one last one, so sweet. James and Joni...Joni on lead and James on the harmonies, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpMfdob55W0 She didn't to a lot of duets (after her husband anyway) and her voice really does blend beautifully with his here.

Hey Edutton! what a fun cut! And cute video!! Definitely up lifting! Wasn't familiar with the Mowglis but I like them!! Thanks!

I always liked this guy (under rated, I think!) and I really like this one -- > just believe in you! got plenty of calls when I played it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kXIeVoxgm8

and this, well, what can I say? There are probably 90 billion--maybe more--versions of this, but not in Inuit! Susan Aglukark has a stunning voice (and the video, of aurora borealis, is pretty cool, too!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtNuELl5he0

and the Poozies!! Who can't love the poozies??? This is Another Train (there's another train, there always is! Maybe the next one is yours! Get up and climb aboard another train!) Glorious harmonies! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3I-7nraIrrY

finally, yeah, another Peter Gabriel, with the Afro-Celt Sound System--so awesome! This is just a jammin' cut from them ---> fantastic percussion! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_geK-7m43TY I can't say how many times I've cranked this to dance around the house! Gotta be loud loud loud!! :)

Trying to write. Key word is trying ;) Took a break from lots of things including writing for awhile, just life stuff. But, business has been handled, life is good, and I'm knee deep in a story that's actually coming around fairly decent. Came back here to help me get back in writer mode and get some of that good maze runner advice!
