Glad I found this place. I was in search of a good group of writers I could workshop and commiserate with.

Creative writing was my minor in college and it's my lifelong dream, but it slipped away from me for a while. In the last couple years I fell back into it and wrote a complete first draft of a novel. Since then, I've realized that in addition to consistent reading and writing, I want to talk to and listen to other writers about their experiences, as well as their methods and scopes and styles. This seems like a wonderful community and I'm really excited to engage. Nice to meet everyone.

(Loves include my spouse, my three-year-old, coffee, wine, rainy weather, and bikes.)

Nice to meet you, buckingham. Can you tell us the genre of your completed novel? (I had to add the word completed because hey, that's a big deal, first draft or not.)

Maryn, glad you're here

Thank you, and sure! Paranormal/fantasy. It was a challenge because I've never written anything in that genre before, but I enjoyed it. It definitely needs a lot of editing, though. As someone who has only written short stories before, I find it's easy to lose track of the plot and general gist without a live outline.

Nice to meet everyone.

Nice to meet you, too.

My real name is very close to your user name. We both are castles located in England (though Buckingham is lots more plush than mine farther north of London).

My loves are the same as yours, although the three-year-old is a great-grand, and I had to trade my Schwinn :e2bike2: for a walker for a while. Oregon is quite cool and rainy :e2drown: at the moment, but inside the coffee :e2coffee: is hot.

I look forward to reading your paranormal. :welcome:!
