Hi everybody.

I've just joined. I've written quite a lot of fiction in the past, both short stories and novels, but I haven't tried to get anything published yet. I have a lot of experience of both writing and accepting critique, so this is probably my kind of place. I write in a variety of genres, including Literary. As a reader, I'm exploring Marquez at the moment, so I may attempt something along the lines of magical realism at some point, but that's by no means certain.

Cool. I read a lot of Gabriel Garcia Marquez back in university. Great writing.

Welcome!

Thanks for the welcomes, folks.

@Denevius; I first attempted Marquez about 25 years ago and didn't make much of him. This time round, though, I'm finding him fascinating. I've read the earlier short stories and novellas so far, plus 'One Hundred Years of Solitude', of course, and 'Innocent Erendira', etc. I'm reading 'The Autumn of the Patriarch' at the moment, which is a bit challenging but not nearly as difficult as the later Joyce, or Virginia Woolf's 'The Waves'. I increasingly think one needs to be ready for a book and that novels often deserve a second chance.

Hello! New too. Funny I am reading Marquez right now because I never have before. He's interesting but not really my style. I hope to read your work in the future.
