Hi, newbie here :) Just thought I'd share about this neat site I found while researching an idea. Stanford's put together an awesome resource for figuring out travel in the Roman empire: http://orbis.stanford.edu/orbis2012/#

It has several variables you can play around with (like mode of transportation, cost, time of year, speed), to figure out all the details you'd want to know about getting from any one of the 700+ sites to another. (Wouldn't it be nice if there were tools like this for some other time periods? Or maybe you guys already know?)

It has some glitches - it seems to get confused by the fact that there are two Thebai, as it doesn't know whether I want to go to Greece or Egypt! But it's a cool gizmo that I might play around with :)

Heh, glad to know I'm not the only one who got confused by that! The location of Thebe caused me no end of headache when I started reaching mythology.

Cool find!
