I'm thinking my new novel might work best with Hero POV first... and then introduce Heroine POV. This will be standard third person with only those two POV. In thinking back, and somewhat researching, I don't know of any romance which starts with Hero POV first. Thoughts?

For what it's worth, I just grabbed the closest nine heterosexual romances from the bookcase in my bedroom. Four of them began in the hero's POV.

Good enough for me! I obviously need to expand my reading. Many thanks!

I've read a number of M/F romances where the opening scene is in the MMC's pov. Courtney Milan does it with a number of her romances, and they seem to be pretty popular. I've seen it done by other authors too. I don't think it's a problem unless you don't introduce the FMC until much later.

Laura Kinsale did it a number of times.

I read lots of romance, and many start with the hero's POV. Various recent examples:

Hard Hitter - Sarina Bowen
Cold-Hearted Rake - Lisa Kelypas
The Negotiator - Avery Flynn
Hate to Want You - Alisha Rai

...and this is without trying very hard. Just a quick look at my e-books.
