Probably all the books I did read. Not sure I have a frame of reference to recommend ones I didn't read. And all that I read lead to more and more to read. Haven't stopped yet and my reading list will keep me goi9ng for another few decades anyway.

Porn. all porn.

seriously, and knowing my tastes in reading skew towards fantasy:

A Night in the Lonesome October (for MG before it was a thing, and the monster mashup elements)
The Harry Potter series (or at least Book 1) to get a feel for current
The Hobbit for less current

and no idea what else.....growing up I loved My Side of the Mountain, Rascal, A Dog who Wouldn't Be, A Wrinkle in Time, and a bunch of others, but too far back and too many to pick from

1) The Harry Potter series
2) The Killer Angels
3) The Illiad
4) The Science of Enlightenment
5) Electronic Gadgets for the Evil Genius.

Usually if I liked the subject of a book I would go on a rampage in the used bookstore/Library until I learned all I could about it. I wish I could have fell into subjects that were a little more scienceish. But when your poor you take what is cheap.
