And let it be duly noted in the Hansard. Some dickhead.
And let it be duly noted in the Hansard.
Some dickhead: No
The final vote is being held.
The MPs voting against the legislation are Russell Broadbent, Keith Pitt, David Littleproud and Bob Katter.
Because there are less than five MPs voting no the legislation is declared passed.
So glad this worked out. Well done, Aussies. Sorry for the unnecessary suffering.
It's a good day. I was going to call my brother to ask when he's getting married, but it occured to me that the question isn't any less rude and presumptuous just because that's a possibility now. I think i'll hold off a few days.
The absentees/abstainers (according to Twitter):
Tony Abbott
Andrew Hastie
Michael Sukkar
Kevin Andrews
Scott Morrison
Alex Hawke
George Christensen
The idea of marriage probably isn't sitting very well with Barnaby at the moment.
Ah, man, I'm all teary at the public gallery spontaneously breaking out into "We are Australian."
The singing is so corny.
And I'd been holding it together until then.
SO corny.
.
Oh, good good good news. Well done, Australia.
This makes me very happy.
Oh come on, The Age. Be better than this:
Fewer. FEWER!!!! GAH!
