    Yeah.

At least with a division, we'll be able to see who voted no.

The No side of the chamber is looking pretty empty

    The singing is so corny.

And I'd been holding it together until then.

SO corny. And all I could think was "There's no way anyone would start singing Advance Australia Fair."

Well, that and ... what the hell is Julie Bishop doing all smiley and accepting people's hugs and kisses? The coward abstained from everything today.

    This makes me very happy.

Oh come on, The Age. Be better than this:

The final vote is being held.

The MPs voting against the legislation are Russell Broadbent, Keith Pitt, David Littleproud and Bob Katter.

Because there are less than five MPs voting no the legislation is declared passed.
    Fewer. FEWER!!!! GAH!

Truffles on The Project: "I am the first prime minister to unequivocally support same sex marriage."

Ugh. I can't even. But Magda can! She's called him out beautifully. Magda for Aussie of the Year!

It's a good day. I was going to call my brother to ask when he's getting married, but it occured to me that the question isn't any less rude and presumptuous just because that's a possibility now. I think i'll hold off a few days.

I don't know about Dutton. Those seven were the ones reported in the Australian. But Joyce wasn't there either, apparently, so I'm not sure what's going on.

The idea of marriage probably isn't sitting very well with Barnaby at the moment.

Yeah, that was an odd personal interjection from Barnaby today.

    Wish Me Away

Ours is characteristically the kind of if-it-isn't-this-it-has-to-be-that, dichotomized, either/or thinking that philosophers from earlier times have cautioned can lead to a simplistic misreading of reality. And, indeed, psychologists today have discovered it is the mark of a lower or less psychologically evolved stage of cognitive and emotional development. - Riane Eisler

That would require the presumption that Bob Katter is all there.
