Has anyone had any dealings with them?

I'm a little confused how they operate. They say they take unsolicited queries like a regular literary agency and I know they have an association with Janklow & Nesbit. However, I don't think they're quite like a traditional agency. I could be wrong though.

Sorry if they're was already a thread about them. I didn't see one here.

Here is the link to their page: https://www.cullenstanleyinternational.com/

Huh, how interesting. My first instinct from the website would have been that they specialise in selling subrights, particularly helping reputable agencies get international rights as co-agents. And the 'People' page does support that, in that two of the three agents were specifically a foreign rights agent (Cullen) and a foreign contracts coordinator (Jared).

...But Stephanie appears to have been a general literary agent at Janklow & Nesbit before joining, so their experience stretches beyond foreign rights sales. The bios honestly read as if there were some personal differences at J&N and a chunk of the group decided to split off, focusing on their strengths (international sales).

From a submitting writer perspective, the site leaves me feeling a bit confused. The sub guidelines are very vague. One agent reps all of the popular nonfic types and "In fiction, she likes novels with strong plot lines, inspirational stories and memorable characters."... so, basically every single fiction genre too.

Yeah. I'm not sure what to make of it either.

I've just realised the "inspirational stories" sub guideline might specifically be referring to Christian fic or other inspirational memoirs, so now I'm even more confused than ever.
