The game board is laid out like a Monopoly board but with landmarks and cabinet departments from Washington, D.C. Players move around the board buying things and trying to gain control of the 3 branches of government. But, each player begins in debt so they have to borrow money to do their first buying. Whichever player ends up owning everything or otherwise pays off their debt wins the game.

If you gained control of the three branches of government, wouldn't that make the government an autocracy??

I think you could make it unique by setting it up as a satirical take on the supreme bribability of elected officials. Basically, make the logical conclusion of all complaints about government--where the players represent wealthy shadow interests and literally everything is for sale. Do you spend this turn building up your corporate empire? It'll give you more money to spend, but while you aren't looking, your opponent might get the rider he wants on that bill going through the Senate! And every few turns, a new presidential election changes the rules considerably. Make sure you stack the Supreme Court, too, or they might restrict your buying power!

I'm picturing lots of goofy characters that grant their own benefits from buying their votes, too.
