I'm having difficulty finding a pro-paying market for a fantasy story that is 8,250 words. I use duotrope and most markets are maxed out at about 7k words, but it's too short for a typical agent route. Is there a list of small presses who are looking for works in this range? I couldn't find it. Thank you!

You might also try Submission Grinder (which is free, by the way). There are several pro paying markets that take novelette length fantasy. Not many, but some. Fantasy & Science Fiction, and Deep Magic are but two I can name off the top of my head. I believe Clarkesworld and Orson Scott Card do as well.
