Hi everyone!
My name is Lynn. I've been out of the loop for many years but now it is a new time to write. My passion is and always will be ancient Egypt. I have read every article, every book, and own a small library of books by Budge and other Egyptian related texts. I took my love for ancient Egypt and controversial theories and came up with an idea for an epic time travel novel. I spent years honing my skills and writing my first epic novel. I then searched for an agent. While most agents loved the concept of my story, they were not wowed by my writing. Rejection weighed heavy on my mind and I left my adventure to sit gathering dust while I decided to change gears and turn it into a graphic novel. I found several artists who eventually let me down and nothing ever came of it. So I decided to do it myself with 3D animation software since I can't draw. I spent 10 years learning to use the software, build my own props, and sadly, I got sidetracked from why I started doing it in the first place.
Last month, my girlfriend came by for a visit and it would change my direction once again. Within the last month, I picked up my novel for the first time in years. I worked on it every day, editing and polishing. Now I have found the end of my story wasn't really the end. I have a friend who is an English teacher who is, hopefully, proofing my novel now and will be done at the end of the month. To kill some time and find my creative groove again, I dug out my box of research, found my plot outline, and started working on the second novel.
I wasted a lot of time not following my heart, but now it is a new time to write. I'm much older and my skills have improved enough that I am more confident I will find an agent this time around and my beloved story will find its place in this world.
Thanks for reading,
Lynn
