Will posting excepts on my blog hurt chances at publication?

What is considered previously published material?

I've finished the first draft of my novel and was thinking of blogging my revision attempts. I plan on doing it in depth, going over my novel in summary and in detail; up to and including before and afters for certain passages.

Would this hurt my chance of publication?

If you put an extract up on your blog it probably wouldn't, but blogging all of it, and with notes too--that isn't a good idea.

Ah, I was afraid of that. What if I were to keep it vague and in general? Would posting synopses be fine or what that still be too much?
