Six Experts Resign From President’s HIV/AIDS Advisory Panel in Protest
Six members of the Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) resigned in protest of the Trump administration, which they allege "has no strategy to address the on-going HIV/AIDS epidemic."...

In the op-ed, they note that Trump removed the Office of National AIDS Policy website and has not appointed someone to lead the White House Office of National AIDS Policy, who held a seat on the Domestic Policy Council under Obama.

"Because we do not believe the Trump Administration is listening to — or cares — about the communities we serve as members of PACHA, we have decided it is time to step down," Schoettes wrote.

"We will be more effective from the outside," he added, "advocating for change and protesting policies that will hurt the health of the communities we serve and the country as a whole if this administration continues down the current path."

Friday's OpEd explaining: TRUMP DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HIV. WE’RE OUTTA HERE
The Trump Administration has no strategy to address the on-going HIV/AIDS epidemic, seeks zero input from experts to formulate HIV policy, and—most concerning—pushes legislation that will harm people living with HIV and halt or reverse important gains made in the fight against this disease....

Members, appointed by the President, currently include public health officials, researchers, health care providers, faith leaders, HIV advocates, and people living with HIV. PACHA also monitors and provides recommendations to effectively implement the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, which was created by the White House Office of National AIDS Policy in 2010 and revised in 2015.

Having lost friends to AIDS, this makes me especially angry. And given the growing heroin epidemic, Trump's negligence couldn't have come at a worse time.

I wonder if it will get any mainstream coverage on Trump Reality TV?

It still appalls me how such an unspeakable entity was ever able to occupy in such a privileged and powerful position.

I'm so sorry this is happening. :(

Yes.

According to Nate Silver's analysis, the occupier of the White House is noticeably responsible for European voters' revulsion against rightwing nationalist racist fearmongering candidates in recent elections. The more they try to ride his coattails, the fewer votes they get.

Of course Trump doesn't care about AIDS. It doesn't affect him personally. Therefore, it is of no matter. Plus, his Christian Right supporters are happy to see less money spent on "sinners," so for him it's a win-win.

This is a no-brainer. If they're on the advisory committee, they have empathy and they support the community. HE HAS NO EMPATHY, HE DOES NOT SUPPORT ANY COMMUNITY OUTSIDE THE COMMUNITY OF DONALD. He'd throw his wife under a bus. These people leaving the committee just makes sense, plain and simple.
