I've been in a weird state for the past year where I have hundreds of story ideas coming and going, but as soon as I start to work on one seriously, I lose interest. Well, not this time!
I sat myself down the other day and said, "You're going to pick a story idea and commit to it for a year, even if you start to hate it next week. Just pick something and start writing." Surprisingly, that actually worked!
I've written 1500-2000 words every day for the last four days, which is faster than I've ever written in my life. I'm absolutely thrilled about this story. I wake up in the morning excited to make more progress. It's the best feeling ever.
My goal: finish an 80,000 word first draft by the end of September!
