    Post Free lunch?

I'm writing up a conference for a non-profit and they want me to register for the event online like anyone else. The conference is free and lunch is provided. Is it OK for me to order a lunch or would it be or look unprofessional since I'm supposed to be working?

I am not 100% sure what you are asking, but if you are a regular attendee for the event it is acceptable for you to take advantage of any of the perks or features of attendance. Working people still need to eat.

Depending on what you're supposed to be doing the write-up about, or why, lunch might be relevant to your review. If it's supposed to be about fund-raising for charity, the non-profit audience might like to know that they're serving a free lunch of lobster and truffles to the attendees. Or, if they're trying to get people to attend, a free lunch of a pre-made sandwich and an apple might also be useful information. In any case, Veinglory is right, if you're attending, and the attendees get lunch, it's part of the deal.

It's not a free lunch. You're working, remember?

You are asking the wrong people. Ask the conference directors.
