Anyone read and/or write at Medium?

It's an online platform for writers to publish their works (mostly short stories).

https://about.medium.com/

https://publishers.medium.com/

I created an account a while back, (I think you have to use a Google ID in order for it to work, but have not put much effort into it. Debating putting together some of the shorter content pieces I've written across a myriad of genres and putting them "into the void" there. My question is whether it would even be worth it. Has anyone else used this platform with any success (I know, success is subjective).

It'd be hard to monetize this I think, so I guess it would be most meaningful to help build an audience, but again, I am not even sure.

Medium is mostly non-fiction, and it works well for that, and yes, unless you're paid by Medium because they pick up a post or blog/column of yours, it's about platform/audience.

Consider it more of an alternative to blogging than a publishing platform.

I have to say, the editor is a sweet UI.

I liked it when I did use it briefly, as a companion for a photography blog I was actively writing at the time. I do get some interesting reads from it periodically, which made me think of using it as a writing tool, but then started thinking about the platform/audience angle and decided against using it as a test bed for short stories.

Oh well, thanks for the input Lisa :)
