Hello, my name is Garett but you can call me Gar. I am new to the site and love the idea of it. I did have a question: Where would be a good place to post a sample of my novel for some constructive criticism. I was a little confused by the forums and just wanted to make sure I post it in the right spot. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you all!

Hi Gar,
There is a subforum called "Share Your Work", with sections devoted to various genres. Once new members have participated in the forum and have 50 posts under their belt, they can post their writing for critique. The fastest and easiest way to get to 50 posts -- and to make friends and generate good-will -- is to critique other people's writing in Share Your Work!

Yeah, what she said.

Pleased to meet you, Gar. You may find, as so many others have, that you will get the best response to your work when you finally post it if you do critique for others and take the time to become a part of the community at the same time by posting on other boards, too. People are far more likely to want to help you write your best if they know you a little and like what they see. Human nature, right?

Maryn, widely reviled
