Thanks, that's the confusion. When I looked it up it appeared to be trademarked, but I couldn't find a generic name. I wanted the dog to have to do more than just jump a fence.
Generally you'd call it a wireless pet fence, or just a wireless fence. But I've heard invisible fence in generic terms too. Like how a kleenex is actually called a facial tissue. I'd day you're in the clear to use invisible fence as a term without any trouble.
Or you could say "shock collar" and as the animal approaches the wire buried underground around the property, it'll get a jolt. Until the collar batteries wear out.
