hmm. I think I'll stick with my Android phone...

I was actually really excited about this. I think there are ways of making eInk work for writing. Unfortunately, the project has been pulled by Onyx:

On the bright side, Dasung just came out with PaperLess Pro (2nd generation) eInk monitor that's fast enough to watch movies:

Personally, I would love a little eInk laptop.

I think it would be fun...but the price is pretty hefty.

Yup. I think I'll wait until there's some competition in the market and the price drops down to $500-ish. Then maybe hook up the monitor to Raspberry Pi, a keyboard, a battery bank and a solar panel for a simple solar eInk laptop. Technically, it's all possible to do now, but the trick is the expense plus fitting it all into a nice form factor.

Hopefully there will just be a sweet little 10" netbook with a great eInk screen I can buy.


For now, it's AlphaSmart Neo for me.

I love the idea of having everything solar, too.

But if I tried to tinker that much, I'd never have time to write!

Yup, my thoughts exactly. I have a tendency of getting obsessively into projects that can theoretically "help" my writing, but which often turn into time-consuming obstacles.
