Hi all! I've had this idea nibbling at me for a little while about a new MG fantasy that revolves around addiction of one form or another, so am looking for any titles that may deal with or touch upon the subject!
Any MG titles that deal with alcoholism or addiction in the story?

I hesitate because this sounds self-promoting, but in my MG fantasy, FINDERS KEEPERS, the MC and his mother are both able to sense the presence of a certain kind of valuable stone. Touching it eventually produces addiction, and the mother is at that point.
It's traditional, pre-industrial fantasy, so it may not be what you're looking for.
Actually, another example is in one of John Flanagan's Ranger novels in which the MC, Will, becomes addicted to a drug. I can't remember which one. ETA: It's THE ICEBOUND LAND, book 3 in the series.

Thank you! I will check those out! I've also found another, THE SEVENTH WISH, which deals with heroine addiction, so I'm going to add that one to my list as well.
