How to search subcategories on Smashwords

Most of my keyword searches on Smashwords end up with too many results and no way to filter them. I can't see a way to browse subcategories, or to specify in the search that I want all the keywords. For example - gay mysteries, or gay vampire fiction. The buttons for filtering that sometimes appear at the top (price, length, rating) are not offered when I get "Found 237723 results (Try using more keywords)". The FAQ didn't seem to have information on searching.

I'm currently trying to search Smashwords as a reader, but my problems with searching also concern me as an author.

Still hoping for something I can do on Smashwords so I can use their filters...
