Got to the Seattle march a bit late. The Times says there were a couple thousand people. I didn't see the whole crowd so I have no estimate of my own.

Took the light rail for the first time, what a treat compared to the busses. Stupid Kemper Freeman (rich bastard here responsible for delaying the East link of the rail for almost 2 decades). If it wasn't for him we'd have the link all the way from my house to downtown Seattle via Capitol Hill where the march started and my son lives. As it was the rail link only goes half way.

Baby steps.

How bizarre things have become when we have to have marches and demonstrations in the street urging our leaders to stop denying the validity of science.

I know! I was there today, and it occurred to me that it's almost like we have to run around chanting, "The sky! Is! Blue! The sky! Is! Blue!" I mean, what's next? Denying math? I do really hate math, though...

There were marches all over Australia, including a stellar turn out in Melbourne, where they do love a good protest. I see that Peter Capaldi turned up to the London march and wrote '...science is fucking great' on one of the placards.

Great pics, Chris.

Was at the Calgary march this afternoon. We didn't have any Muppets or T-rexes, but we had beer!

There were so many great signs--Scientist humor=much underrated--but I thought this one said the most with the least words

Husband joined some of my friends in San Francisco, where there were about 15,000, they say. I attended a more local march tied to coastal and ocean science, maybe a few hundred people. We had a few marine science groups dressed up as jellyfish and sea stars, and one very cute dog dressed up with a shark fin.
