Hi, Liz :hi:- congrats on the words.

Saoirse - did you have a good birthday?

Brechin - you're really pushing those words out.

Way to go, HJ. Sermon and words on your MS. Whoo-hoo

As for badly behaved characters - they're the best!

Still no words to post, but I shall get back to writing tomorrow.

I am. I started work on this book at the end of January and I should be at 23,000 by the end of this month.

As an aside, I have a certain anxiety about writing a book that's only around 50,000 words because I understand that it is short and that it may dissuade agents and publishers. Not to mention the thousands of writing resources that tell you, "Don't aim to be the exception" when it comes to book length. But isn't it better to allow a story to be the length is needs to be rather than trying to expand it to fit expectations that are unrelated to the storytelling?

I agree.

When I say badly behaved, I mean really badly behaved. Like, totally unlikable. Plus, I don't want to shock you, but one of them swears. *sniff*

This sounds like its own thread! Do it!

:Jaw: How shocking, HJ.

27 words deleted from the MS, which is good, seeing as I'm editing.
