Yeah, I wore those for a little while in the 90’s, but I can’t anymore. Oddly enough, they make me feel like I’m choking.

Yeah, I used to be. I think I felt more comfortable in them when I was young (and thin). But now I'm not fond of anything tight around my neck.

I figured you for a choker-wearer. I saw a woman wearing one yesterday and it totally didn't match anything else she was wearing. Just seemed like an odd accessory to wear for her.

Probably had to do with the color.

Yeah. Light blue.
Honest, I am so not kidding.
I knew darn well it was light blue before you told me.
See? I told you it's the color that's important.
And you left out her accent.

There are foreign influences afoot.

I have a friend who has worn a little plastic, expandable choker every day I've seen her since the day we met, nearly three and a half years ago. I remember these being quite popular a few years back (I had one)...but I didn't know you could even buy them anymore.

Were they around her neck when her toddler got a hold of them? I had to stop wearing big earrings for several years because my babies would always yank them out (and it was often quite painful). And yeah, they'd get a fist-full of necklace and either break the necklace or strangle me. I'm sure that contributed to my lack of love for chokers. Now that they're older, I'm finally starting to wear necklaces again.
