After trying out Mom's scale for a week, I proved to her (and me) that it was lying.
I set a gallon of water on it and it registered 11 pounds.

Uh huh. Oh yeah.
Two and half pounds heavy every ten pounds.
So if I weighed a hundred, it said 125.

Ha.

Felt good to catch a lair in the act.

Now, if it was two and a half pound LIGHTER every ten pounds, I’d love it. I believe in being happily clueless of reality.

I'm dealing with consequences of that right now, oddly enough. More and more the snozzberries don't taste like snozzberries but colors are sharper. The game plan, with my doc, is that by Wednesday I'll have all the reality. I'm a little mixed on that. It's been a long road.

LilB needs a crown on her head, me thinks.

I try not to weigh myself. I go by how my clothes fit. If they're comfortable, great. If they're loose, even better. If they feel a little snugger than usual, then it's time to cut back on the sweets.

Yay for all the reality!

I prefer tiaras, honestly.

That’s a great way to judge.

Way to go, Ted!!! Well done.

And to weigh in on this heavy subject:

Kelly, your mom's scale wasn't exactly lying. It was just giving you alternative truths. :)

P.S. I want Lycra pants, just like LadyV's. :D :D

I don't weigh myself at all. Nutritionist has me step onto her scale every 4-5 weeks and the things says I lost 8-10 lbs (I think that might 2/3 of a stone, Gail) since last check. I've lost over 50Lbs watching what I have to put into my food diary rather what my wife's floor scale shows me. Doing my own cooking, which I also did on the way up, helps with salt intake and I know what is actually in what I'm downing.

After three years working at the university...
I don't want to see another pair of yoga pants for a long, long, time.

I wonder what my wrestling singlet was made from in high school.

I will never understand this sport. Although, I'm sure that on any given weeknight on campus, I could probably find a couple of guys rolling around the floor in spandex... It's still very confusing. The bottom never wins, or maybe he does if he gets pinned, and that's means their going steady now, right?

I'm more concerned with healthy,
if that translates somehow into appearance, then that's what it does.
Just as long as it's not bothersome.

I've lost a lot of weight since joining AW. Then I put some back on. Now it's coming off again.

*shrug* I'll take it, I suppose. I'm still healthier now than back then, even if I don't look the way I want to.

Oh, and I used to have a lying scale, too. It wasn't digital - it was an old-school thing where a little disc would spin around to tell you how much you weighed. Not standing on it, it read 0. Then you stand on it, and it says X. Only, it didn't work properly, because when you stepped off of it, it no longer read 0. *sigh*

My scale never said anything.

It just wept quietly.

Enough!!!

The only good scales are on a fish!!

(I think that might 2/3 of a stone, Gail)
Um... I measure stones in carats. We use kilograms for weight, here. But Rob would know what a stone weight is. :D
