DeadLights Submissions Open! April Featuring Jack Ketchum

We are a horror fiction magazine open to submissions! This will be for our April Issue, both in Print and on Kindle. It is our second issue. Our Featured Author for this issue is Jack Ketchum. We'll be open for about a month!

Pay for Short Stories is $50 plus a print copy. As an added bonus, we do not maintain copyrights over your work. As soon as we publish, the rights return to you.

    We also accept:
    Poetry
    Flash Fiction
    Creative Non-Fiction

And, if you'd like to review, there may be a spot open for that as well.

Visit us to find out more! We have a bunch of shenanigans going on!

This sounds super exciting! And being printed alongside Jack Ketchum would be great! I need to start looking through my collection of saved stories.
I like to think that God created haircuts, and arguments, and jam on the first day. Am I right, Eddie Izzard?

Take a look! I'm in a book! Read the newest anthology from Thinkerbeat!
    And review too!

I have a few short stories I'm cleaning up right now. I'll definitely look into this.

Good luck! I submitted mine a few weeks ago. Getting nervous, as Submission Grinder is already showing some rejections.

Biting my nails too. Trying to tell myself the longer it takes to hear from them, the better your odds. The stories they don't like right away probably get instant rejection letters.

Looks like they're moving through the stories a lot faster now. Submission Grinder says they've sent out four rejection letters in two days.

I got my rejection letter yesterday. This seems like a tough magazine to get into.

No April issue ever came out... The Feb one was pretty good. Anyone know what happened?

They appear to be gone. Their website is gone, as is their Twitter.

They had to pull out of publishing because of a family emergency. No more details than that.

I'm sorry to hear that. They had a great format and strong content.

Their Kickstarter campaign only raised 785$, it's more than the 500$ they were shooting for, but still not exactly a warchest.

Bummer; I had a short story they were considering, but I never heard back from them after November.

(I suppose if it's folded, I'm free to send the short story elsewhere now...?)

To cover your bases, you should probably send them an email stating that you are withdrawing the story from consideration. That way there is no confusion later on.
