I don't mean guys like Westlake's Parker (although I love Parker), but I mean the real bad guys. Dudes who have drug habits, commit crimes because they're all about doing the wrong thing, rape, murder, etc. I'm curious as to how far the envelope can be pushed with an anti-hero. I'd appreciate any recommendations, particularly if they're your own work.

The bad guys can be as fun as the good guys, though for me there have to be some redeeming qualities. I can't read (or write, though I do love noir) pure evil for entertainment's sake.
