Hi all,
I'm so proud of my m-i-l, Ava Schieber. She was a Holocaust survivor who became a painter. When her hands got too arthritic for painting, she turned to writing, poetry and memoir, and astonishingly enough (given that English is her 3rd or 4th language), she was really good at that too. Today, Northwestern University Press is issuing her second book, entitled PRESENT PAST. It's a rich blend of poetry, essays, and illustrations taken from Ava's own work. I hope you'll have a look.
And for anyone who says they'd like to write but they're too old: think again. Ava's 90+. When her first book came out, she was 86. It's never too late.
