Essay on difference between science fiction and fantasy: 500-1000 words, $60

We are planning to publish an essay on the theme 'At What Point Does Science Fiction Turn Into Fantasy?' The essay should respond to a seed thesis (posted at http://earthscienceissues.net/topics_for_debate), in 500-1000 words, closer to 500 is preferred. We pay $60.

We are also looking for short stories that include a key concept of earth science as a turning point of the story. Length should be 1000-3000 words. We pay $0.06/word.

Our target audience is mainly classroom earth science teachers and their students.

    Author guidelines are at http://earthscienceissues.net/submissions/

    From your link:
Topic for the next issue: At What Point Does Science Fiction Turn Into Fantasy? (Submission deadline April 15, 2016)

Seven months too late. Kind of pointless isn't it?

It would also be helpful if you gave an age range - high school? Middle school?

I have corrected the wrong date--should have been April 15, 2017, as consistent with the submission guidelines. Thank you for the heads up. Yes, this is an active request. Age range: The essays are mainly aimed at adult secondary science teachers. Fiction stories are mainly for secondary science students (perhaps 7th grade through high school).
