Argh...

Don't You Forget About Me - Simple Minds

One more try:

I need fifty dollars to make you holler

"I get paid to do the Wild Thing" by 80s flash-in-the-pan(?) Tone Loc.

Here you go:

You've been to the clubs and the discotheques
Where they deal one another from the bottom of a deck of promises

OK, one more try. Same artist. Different song

Just then I saw a young hawk flyin'
and my soul began to rise
And pretty soon
My heart was singin

Okay, cmhbob's second one has gotta be

Roll Me Away by Bob Seger

I don't know MaeZe's though, so that's still out there...which means hers is the most recent:

I've got one foot in the graveyard
No one cares for me

Not revealing the answer because I'll admit to cheating. That said, even after reading the song and artist, I still have no clue, and had never heard of the song before in my life.

Perhaps my age and lifestyle during that time are showing. :tongue

Why not come up with a new one that someone has a chance at guessing? Remember the goal isn't to completely stump the audience, otherwise, no one ever gets it right and continues the fun :)

OK, that one was, "Signed DC" sung by the band, LOVE.

https://genius.com/Love-signed-dc-lyrics

One of my favorite songs from that era.

Here's something newer and sad but not so dark:

"The last time I felt like this
I was in the wilderness and the canyon was on fire"

If no one gets it from that, I'll add more lines.

Boulder to Birmingham - Dolly Parton?

(I think this is right, but was wrong once already, so will await confirmation before throwing a new one out...) :)
